How We Can Help


Functional Testing

Most of the tests you receive at your providers office that are covered by insurance are not going to give you the answers you need until you are already very sick. These tests are not designed to go deep. They are cost-effective and provide clear guidance on what medication to prescribe. They do not tell you the whole picture or help identify problems early. It’s hard to treat what you don’t know, so we utilize in depth, functional tests that allow us to see the full picture. This helps us get to the true cause of disease as well as be proactive about potential causes of disease.


Lifestyle modifications

Movement is life. You cannot be healthy if you don’t move your body. We were not designed to be sedentary. Having muscle and being functional is more than vanity, its being able to walk up and down stairs. You don’t want to get to a point where you can’t perform daily activities. We also need sleep. Quality sleep is hard to come by for a lot of people, but critical for everyone. Get active during the day, sleep well at night and see how your mood and waistline improve.


 
 

Diet and nurtition

Ever heard the saying “you can’t supplement your way out of a bad diet”? It’s true, you can’t take enough supplements to make up for real food. Sadly, most of the “foods” consumed today are ultra-processed and full of chemicals. Food was designed to nourish and support the body, so a focus on real, whole foods is critical to long term health. We will help you learn not just what to eat, but how to eat to best serve your health and wellness goals. The order in which we eat our food as well as the amount of various macro/micro nutrients we consume through food plays a major role in our health.


Stress Management

We all have stress, but its how we manage it that dictates the impact it will have on our lives. Long term stress has been linked to every chronic disease we know of. Whether its a physical, chemical or psychological stressor, it needs to be addressed if you want your body to heal and thrive. Breath work and gratitude practice are a few excellent ways to work on stress management. Also taking an honest look at your life and what is serving you and what is creating stress.

vitamin/Mineral/Herbal Support

Even with the best, cleanest diet we often fall short of the nutrients and vitamins we need. Our food is simply not as nutrient dense as it used to be due to changes in the soil and ways in which food is cultivated. As a result, most people need to supplement their diet with vitamins and/or minerals. Vitamins and minerals are crucial for nearly every function in our body. Magnesium alone is involved in more than 300 biochemical reactions. When vitamins/minerals are not enough, herbal support can help. Herbs have been used safely for hundreds of years and will continue to be used.


Courses

We are so excited to have launched our first online course on Teachable. “Birth Preparation” takes you through everything you need to know to prepare for birth. Kat Markiewicz and I created this course to help you prepare mentally, physically, emotionally and logistically. To say it was a "labor" of love would be cliche, but so true. Available for individuals who are ready to get to the root of their issue and support their body for healing.

  • 50-minute Initial Visit

    • This in depth visit, allows us to get to know each other, go through your personal history and current concerns. This deep dive affords us a solid understanding of what might be going on and where to look for the root cause. Labs are usually ordered after this appointment and lifestyle changes are implemented immediately.

  • 50 minute Test Review (Second Visit)

    • Once you have completed your lab work, we will meet again to discuss in detail what those labs mean. This is a very important appointment because it gives us a clear picture of what your body needs to heal. In this appointment, we will develop a clear and specific plan of action based on your individual needs.

  • 30 minute Follow Ups

    • These are designed as regular check ins to assess progress and review/update plan as needed. Frequency is decided together based on your individual needs.

  • Functional Lab Testing

    • These are not the traditional blood tests run in the beginning of your care. Functional labs are more complex and comprehensive tests focused on one specific area of health. When appropriate, these tests are recommended and treatment plans are updated based on their findings.

    • We offer DUTCH test for hormones, GI Mapping for gut health, nutrient deficiency, mold and heavy metal testing.

Structured for people who want to get to improve their overall health, but don’t know where to start.

  • 3 month commitment (4 weeks of weekly support and 8 weeks of bi-weekly support)

  • 1 50-minute initial appointment

  • 7 30-minute follow up visits

  • A detailed plan of action to help you achieve your specific goals in a way that works for your life.

  • Specific diet/lifestyle changes to help you achieve yours goals

  • Daily text check in to report successes/struggles/intentions.
